The DRV-A501W is a dashcam with brains, and one that brings its users peace of mind. Its Wide Quad HD camera integrates HDR and a polarization filter for superior quality regardless of lighting conditions. Recordings can then be viewed instantly on its full-colour 3in display (a first for Kenwood), and transferred via onboard Wi-Fi to a smart device for editing and uploading, with GPS data information. A Smart Parking Mode uses the in-built G sensor to automatically instigate recording when the vehicle is parked, meaning any collisions are caught on camera, while a second rear camera can be added to enable simultaneous Full HD recording. A Quick Release mounting system makes installation slick and simple. This dashcam solution will let you drive with confidence.

With its 3.7 megapixel CMOS sensor, DRV-A700W/A501W captures Wide Quad HD video at 30fps, 1.8 times as many pixels as Full HD, making super-high resolution recording and replay possible. |
Wireless Smartphone Link (Wireless LAN)

The KENWOOD DASH CAM MANAGER app allows you to easily change the menu settings of your dash cam (DRV-A700W/ DRV-A601W/ DRV-A501W) and browse through your videos from your smartphone in an intuitive way. On your smartphone you can check recorded videos as well as realtime live view. By downloading the video / photo files into your smartphone, you can even review them while routing on Google Maps with the GPS information such as speed, G-sensor and distance, and edit the videos to share them in social media. Download the app from App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) on your smartphone. |  |

HDR (High Dynamic Range)

HDR helps to reduce “blown out highlights” and “crushed blacks” and ensure clear images in challenging environments, including backlit scenes in daylight, streetlight scenes at night and places where light-dark contrast is particularly severe, such as at tunnel entrances/exits. |  |
3-axis G Sensor & GPS receiver

When the built-in G-sensor with adjustable sensitivity detects any sudden motion, the dashboard camera will automatically save and lock the recording to protect it from being deleted. The integrated 3-axis sensor records G-force which shows the direction and the strength of possible impact. With the accurate speed and location data supplied by the built-in GPS receiver, the dashboard camera will keep track of your vehicle’s physical location to show the route travelled and speed you were going on playback with the desktop software or the wireless smartphone link app. |  |
Smart Parking Mode

When your vehicle is parked and turned off, the Smart Parking Mode becomes active. If your vehicle is subject to a collision or other physical impacts, your dash cam powers on thanks to the built-in G-Sensor and automatically records 30 seconds of video. The hardwire kit CA-DR1030 (optional accessory) is required for permanent power. |  |
Super Capacitor (Backup Battery)
| This prevents the video file being recorded from being corrupted if power is lost due to a collision or other physical impacts, as it provides enough power to allow the file to save properly. |  |
2-Ways to Mount
| A suction-cup and an adhesive mount are included in the package. The suction mount makes it easier to attach and detach from the windshield while the adhesive mount provides more solid support for the camera. |  |
Quick Release Magnetic Mount

Polarizer Filter — Reduces Front Windscreen Reflection —

DRV-A700W/ DRV-A601W/ DRV-A501W include a Polarizer Filter. This reduces such things as dashboard reflection on the windscreen, which may appear in certain positions or due to weather conditions, and helps to lessen glare on sunny days, making it possible to record clear outside images. |  |
Front & Rear 2 Camera Recording

By connecting the optional rear camera KCA-R100 it is possible to record front and rear directions simultaneously, both in Full HD quality. The optional rear window camera KCA-R100 offers all-round protection to guard against everything from tailgaters and rear end impacts, to knocks and bumps in a car park. It uses a 161° ultra-wide viewing angle to capture the whole road behind. The compact rear window camera KCA-R100 has a 180° rotational lens for easy installation and can easily be connected to your compatible DRV-A501W camera via a 8m long cable. When you connect the rear window camera KCA-R100, the resolution of your dashboard camera DRV-A501W will automatically adjust to manage two Full HD resolution video files. |
